A basic overview of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite?
Author:
Industrial grade sodium metabisulfiteI believe a lot of friends are not clear, in order to enhance our understanding, the following small series on this issue specific introduction, interested in a look at it! If you are also interested, you may wish to check it out here.

Industrial grade sodium metabisulfite is also a popular product now. But many people still don't understand its role. The first thing we need to know is that industrial grade sodium metabisulfite is an inorganic compound, white or crystalline, with a strong pungent odor. It is soluble in water and the aqueous solution is acidic. On contact with strong acids, sulfur dioxide is released and the corresponding salts are formed. If left in the air for a long time, it will be oxidized to sodium sulfate, so sodium metabisulfite cannot be stored for a long time. What this product needs to know when it is produced is that its sulfur is now a Class B dangerous product, and the dust has the possibility of explosion. Especially for domestic installations that burn solid sulfur, attention should be paid to ventilation during the crushing process. Prevent dust from reaching explosive limits. The lower explosive limit is 35mg/m3. It should also be noted that its SO2 gas is a toxic gas and heavier than air. In case of leakage of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite, the personnel in the contaminated area shall be immediately evacuated to the windward place, isolated immediately, and the access shall be strictly restricted. Therefore, we also recommend that emergency personnel wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and gas protective clothing. Enter the site from a headwind. Cut off the leak source as much as possible. Cover sewers and other places near the leak point with industrial covering or adsorbent/absorbent to prevent gas from entering. Reasonable ventilation to accelerate diffusion. Dilute with spray water and dissolve. Build levees or dig pits to receive large quantities of waste water.
If skin contactIndustrial grade sodium metabisulfiteImmediately remove contaminated clothing and rinse with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes. See a doctor. In case of eye contact, immediately lift the eyelid and rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or saline for at least 15 minutes. See a doctor. Industrial sodium metabisulfite production process wastewater from the washing process, the main pollution factors are: sodium sulfite, sulfuric acid, sulfur and other impurities. This dilute acidic water is a common problem with industrial grade sodium metabisulfite. Its wastewater output is about 50-80kg per ton of sodium coke product. At present, the main treatment processes are: lime neutralization, alkali neutralization and preparation of magnesium sulfate. The neutralization cost of lime is low and produces calcium sulfate solid waste, while the neutralization cost of soda ash is high and does not produce solid waste. The preparation of magnesium sulfate is a good direction, but it requires convenient magnesium resources and relatively more investment. Another important point is that industrial grade sodium metabisulfite off-gas comes from synthetic off-gas and dry off-gas. Soda washing is an effective and reasonable treatment method, and the absorption solution can be reused in the alkali mixing process. This can not only achieve the standard emission of tail gas, but also improve the yield of sulfur. The processing equipment generally adopts a packed absorption tower to remove SO2 from the tail gas through countercurrent absorption.
Anyway, aboutIndustrial grade sodium metabisulfiteThe basic overview of the knowledge points to know some relevant information you can come here for consultation. After reading the content of the article, if you encounter such a thing, you will know where to choose. I hope it can help you.
