Sodium sulphate
Graphic Details
Nature:White fine particle crystal or powder, hygroscopic, soluble in water, aqueous solution is neutral. Soluble in glycerol, insoluble in alcohol. Exposure to air will gradually absorb 1 molecule of water. The anhydrous substance with high purity and fine particles is called sodium sulfate. Sodium sulfate can form heptahydrate and decahydrate, and heptahydrate (Na2SO4 · 7H2O) is white orthorhombic crystal. Heat to 24.4 DEG C when converted to anhydrous. Sodium sulfate is reduced to sodium sulfide upon reaction with carbon at high temperature.

Use:Synthetic detergents are used as fillers. It is used for the manufacture of chemical products such as sodium sulfide, ultramarine, sodium silicate, etc. It is used for the manufacture of sulfate pulp in the paper industry, used to replace soda ash in the glass industry, and used as filler in the dye industry. Used as a dyeing aid in the printing and dyeing industry, as a laxative and antidote for barium salt poisoning in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, it is also used in the manufacture of synthetic fibers, leather, non-ferrous metallurgy, enamel, soap, etc.
Production methods:The water-soluble method in the chamber obtains the mirabilite dissolution, evaporates the dehydration produces the anhydrous sodium sulfate.
